Photographed across Tokyo, Okinawa, Osaka, Kyoto, and Hakone, these images form part of an ongoing documentary project exploring everyday life and quiet moments in Japan. Staring Into the Sun looks at the beauty in the ordinary: light, movement, and subtle human gestures that often go unnoticed.

Umbrellas captures a brief pause in the rhythm of city life. More than just protection from the rain, the umbrellas suggest privacy, routine, and the gentle choreography of daily movement. The project reflects on how people share space, sometimes together, sometimes alone.
